Place A + 离 + Place B + 很远/很近

Place A + lí + Place B + hěn yuǎn / hěn jìn

Place A is far away from / near Place B

台北离纽约很远

台北離紐約很遠

tái běi lí niǔ yāo hěn yuǎn

Taipei is far away from New York.

(1) 与其 + sentence, 不如 + sentence

yǔ qí + sentence , bù rú + sentence

Rather than….., it’s better to …..

与其每天睡觉, 不如做点有意义的事

與其每天睡覺，不如做點有意義的事

yú qí měi tiān shuì jiào ，

bù rú zuò diǎn yǒu yì yì de shì

Rather than sleeping every day, it’s better to do something meaningful.

(2) 与其说 + sentence B , 不如说 + sentence A
